It is time to identify my "daily driver" in Mexico. If you haven't read my other reviews, or don't know car terminology, look up the history of the NSX. When it comes to the atmosphere, I actually don't like La Condesa, the neighborhood where this restaurant is located, very much. In summary, "I came Mexico for the Mexico (new tourism slogan)," not to be an expat. So it became odd when I started commuting across town to have my regular breakfasts here. The location itself is great, with seating on the sidewalk, inside, and of course, the backyard. Even with that much seating this place still fills up, so don't be surprised if there's a wait on the weekend, but it's worth it. The staff is really nice, and for the most part bi-lingual. Their English isn't perfect, but they seem to enjoy the practice of getting there, so it's best to help them out whenever possible. It's nothing major, there are just words that don't always translate, so letting them know which word to use is pretty helpful a lot of times. It makes their service even better. The food is definitely a standout, with their specialty being brisket. So, if you order something without the brisket, you're probably missing out on the experience. Personally, I switch back and forth between the egg sandwich and the chilaquiles.l, both are great. They have an arrangement of other foods like pancakes and waffles, but the menu for lunch and breakfast isn't particularly large, but the quality of every plate is high. They are listed as American food, but much like America's true food menu is stolen from other countries, so is this one. Hamburgers, pizza, and other "American" food are found on the menu, each one holding its own against other restaurants. It's pretty impressive. Notably, I began coming here because of the coffee. I thought it was amazingly bold to have a huge sign saying "Choose Great Coffee" when your next door neighbor is the "Starbucks" of Mexico. My kind of people... Five Stars! P.S - Regarding suggestions, your pancakes and waffles are more than likely scoring low with customers because of the amount of syrup with which they are served. Syrup with pancakes isn't as common in Mexico as most Americans think, and when serving them as thick as they are here, they need roughly triple the amount of syrup provided. They dry out during the meal.

First of all, one of the best service and amazing staff! Extra care and very polite, professional, and helpful staff, every single one. The coffee is definitely top notch and made just right. Breakfast is delicious, made perfectly and very fresh ingredients. Great prices, lots of seating inside and out. And a nice quiet neighborhood.

I’ve been in Mexico City a week and needed a hearty breakfast. The Backyard did not disappoint! Aaron made the perfect recommendation by recommending the The Avocado Benny add Pechuga Payo. I also had a latte with almond milk, fresh papaya and fruto roios. The meal was everything I needed! I highly recommend. Oh! The ambiance was super comfy too!

We came here for brunch on our last day of vacation in Mexico City. The Benny with Avocado was delicious. The staff was very kind and provided free orange juice and papaya. The atmosphere is relaxing, with lots of plants and natural light.

I felt this was a great simple menu. Too many options can overwhelm you and the cook. This menu is perfect for the chefs to perfect their craft. I'm not a coffee drinker but my hot chocolate was good. My friends were amazed by the good flavor of their coffee. All of us enjoyed our meals except my friend who ordered the pancakes. She mentioned they didn't stand out to her much. Overall, I'd come back. We were in the backyard area, which was nice and cozy for our large group
